Basel is a foodie’s paradise, and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from no matter what you’re in the mood for. In this blog post, we will explore five of the best places to eat in Basel, Switzerland. From traditional Swiss fare to international cuisine, there is something for everyone! The first time I went to Basel I was shocked to find so many incredible Michelin guide restaurants and so much creativity and I decided that I would have to visit the city and its restaurants at least 6 times a year to try the new dishes and see what new restaurants Basel had to offer. While in Basel make sure to try some of their specialties: Basler Läckerli (head to the Jakob's Basler Leckerly Manufaktur), Magenbrot, Mässmogge, Rosekiechli, Basler Rahmtäfeli, Brunsli, their Cheese and Onion Tart and Salm.

September was all about Chinese food for me as I wanted to try the most recommended Chinese restaurants in Zürich and pick out my favourite ones. I am by no means an expert when it comes to Chinese food but having grown up with a lot of Chinese friends I was able to get the right tips and order the right dishes. For me, Chinese food is all about the sauces, the dim sum and the way they are able to combine a variety of flavours that explode in your mouth. Trying out so many restaurants really gave me a whole new perspective on what Chinese food and hospitality really are about.

I have finally come around to doing the guide for my home town - Lugano - below you’ll find where to eat, drink and sleep in this charming city in the south of Switzerland. It was definitely not easy to list my favourite restaurants as there are really a lot of great places where you can eat or snack. The best part of a trip to Lugano is combining something a bit more fancy with an evening at a “Grotto” to see everything the city has to offer.
