Fondue season is finally almost back and we want to share our favourite Fondue Restaurants in Switzerland with you. Whether you are Swiss or not - Fondue is a definite winter tradition that should be enjoyed at least once a month during winter months! Some restaurants have also adapted to today’s needs and offer vegan and gluten free fondue options making it easier to enjoy this delicacy for more people. One of the first things people think about when they think about Switzerland is Fondue but there are many varieties and options and it’s also easy to fall into a cheap tourist trap that will make your experience a little less magical. We therefore decided to make a selection of some of the best restaurants around Switzerland that have great Fondue, from Zürich to St. Moritz and from Zermatt to Geneva.

I have finally come around to doing the guide for my home town - Lugano - below you’ll find where to eat, drink and sleep in this charming city in the south of Switzerland. It was definitely not easy to list my favourite restaurants as there are really a lot of great places where you can eat or snack. The best part of a trip to Lugano is combining something a bit more fancy with an evening at a “Grotto” to see everything the city has to offer.

Swiss cuisine is not all about Fondue and Raclette (even though I could live on Fondue) and there are many delicious Swiss restaurants you can visit around Zürich to deep dive into the Swiss culture and dishes. In Zürich, one of the most famous dishes is the Zürcher Geschnetzeltes - a veal dish served with a creamy mushroom sauce and Rösti on the side (many restaurants make it but in the list you’ll find the ones I like the most).

St. Moritz call themselves “Top of the World” and once you arrive you completely understand why. Everything is a little bit extra in St. Moritz and everyone is a little more ostentatious than they are back home once they arrive. All the tourists flocking to Engadin and especially to St. Moritz have made it possible for so many delicious restaurants to open up in such a small space.

Lenzerheide is definitely one of the most popular mountain resorts in Switzerland with over 200km of slopes in the winter which turn into the infamous “Bike Kingdom” in the summer. A paradise for hikers, bikers, skiers, snowshoers and so much more, Lenzerheide is also home to some absolutely delicious restaurants (2 of which are Michelin) but you will find good food no matter what your budgets and preferences are.
