Best Lakeside Restaurants Zürich (2023 Edition)
Summer is my absolute favourite season in Zürich and there is nothing better than eating out when the sun is out.
Below you’ll find a list of my favourite lakeside restaurants in Zürich and around the lake - all of the restaurants listed below are places where you are right by the lake and can enjoy the breeze and maybe a little dip before/after lunch.

Fisher’s Fritz
Fisher’s Fritz probably has the best location in town, super close to the city but you’ll feel like you’re on vacation somewhere. Come here for a lunch with friends or date night.

Seerose
At Seerose they have delicious menus of the day which are always fresh and healthy. The atmosphere is super nice and cozy.

Hirschen am See
Hirschen am See is a hotel with an absolutely incredible terrace restaurant. The food and ambiance will surprise you and since it’s in Obermeilen it’s very peaceful.

Seerestaurant Keywest
Seerestaurant Keywest is one of those hidden gems. You’ll feel like you are in the Maldives with delicious fish dishes and if you’re lucky you’ll get a table on the lake walk.

Fischstube
Fischstube was completely refurbished and is now one of the most modern lakeside restaurants in Zürich. Their Fish & Chips is delicious and the views and incredible.

L’O
Another place with an unbeatable location, L’O is the perfect place to have a romantic date night and some fresh fish.

Pumpstation
Pumpstation is super easy going. Come here after work for some nice sunset views and a delicious sausage with friends.

Samigo Amusement
For those who are looking for a little bit more of a party. At Samigo you won’t only find food but also music and a real summer party vibe.

Sonnengalerie
Sonnengalerie is one of two restaurants at Sonne Hotel in Küsnacht. At Sonnengalerie you’ll have a more fancy experience with more refined dishes while right on the other side you’ll find grilled sausages, chicken nuggets and a beautiful view.

Restaurant & Bar Alex
Restaurant & Bar Alex is definitely on the fancier side. The place is extremely modern and the food is really good.

The Steakhouse - Lachen
Stakehouse Lachen is a little bit further down from the city but the meat and the place are definitely worth it. The terrace is right on the water and the meat is absolutely delicious.

Mönchhof am See
Mönchhof am See belongs to the same group as Fisher’s Fritz and the menu is almost identical. The location is also super cute and they usually have space when Fisher’s Fritz doesn’t.

Kiosk
Another great after work place right in the middle of the park, Kiosk is super easy going with some nice simple food and beautiful views.

Restaurant Portofino
Another place with a top location, Portofino is a favourite when it comes to summer evenings and dinners by the port.

Hafen Enge Beiz
Hafen Enge Beiz is one of my absolute favourite hang out places. They have good drinks and a grill where they make delicious sausages (they also have salads and vegetarian options)

Schiffstation
When it’s a little too warm you’ll find solace at Schiffstation with their beautiful trees and view. Their menu is quite basic but everything is tasty.

Strozzi’s Strandhaus
Yet another great location, at Strozzi’s you’ll feel like you can eat and afterwards literally jump into the lake. The vibe is quite fancy and the food is ok.
