There are a number of delicious drinks that you can make with dried oranges. One of the most popular is a hot toddy, which is made by combining orange slices with water, honey, and cinnamon. This drink is perfect for chilly evenings, and it's also said to be good for sore throats.
Another great option is an orange spritzer, which is made by combining orange juice with sparkling water. This refreshing drink is perfect for summer days, and you can easily add a little bit more juice or sparkling water to taste.
Finally, if you're looking for something a little stronger, you can always make an orange liqueur. This homemade liqueur is made by infusing oranges in vodka or rum, and it makes a great addition to cocktails.
To use dried oranges in cooking, try adding them to roasted vegetables, rice dishes, soups, or stews. Or use them as a garnish for baked goods or cocktails. For decoration, dried oranges can be strung into garlands or used as part of a decorative bowl filler.
Prep Time: 5 Minutes
Cooking Time: 6 Hours
Ingredients:
Oranges (as many as you want)
Preparation:
We start by pre-heating the oven to 80°C (170°F)
Take your oranges, wash them and slice them into around 0.5cm (1/4 inch).
Place the slices on an oven rack, now place the rack on a cooking sheet - this way the air will be flowing better and the oranges will dry more evenly.
Bake the slices for around 5/6 hours depending on how thin they are. You should be turning the slices every hour. They are ready when they are quite bendy and flexible.
Once they are ready put them on the side, let them cool and then use them as you wish.
