Mini Cheesecake with Strawberry and Chocolate
Cheesecake is one of my favorite dessers of all time, the only problem is that I also really like chocolate, so this year for Valentine’s Day I decided to make something a little more special - Mini Cheesecakes with a Strawberry and Chocolate topping. Between the cookie base, the soft cheesecake, the crunchy chocolate and the fresh strawberry you will really get all kinds of tastes and textures in your mouth with just one bite.
Chocolate and Hazelnut Cake
This Chocolate and Hazelnut Cake not only surprised me but instantly became one of my top 3 cakes to make at home - it’s not as easy as other cakes as it’s a bit more time consuming but I would still say that anyone can make this cake at home without having any patisserie knowledge. It’s the perfect cake for special occasions and if you want to surprise someone - it’s a cake that people won’t be able to stop eating that’s for sure.
Dreikönigskuchen (Three King’s Cake)
Taking a little break from Healthy January to get ready for tomorrow’s Drei Könige (Three King’s Day- Epiphany). It commemorates the first two occasions on which Jesus’ divinity, according to Christian belief, was manifested: when the Three Kings visited infant Jesus in Bethlehem, and when John the Baptist baptized him in the River Jordan. In Switzerland we like to eat the King Cake (Dreikönigskuchen) a fun tradition where each person gets a piece of the cake and the goal is to find a little King hidden inside one of the pieces. The person who finds the King gets to wear the crown and be King for a day.
White Chocolate Cake “The Bomb”
This White Chocolate Cake is called “The Bomb” for a reason. It’s fluffy texture combined with the chocolate flavour make it perfect for any occasion: birthdays, dinner with friends or when you simply want to treat yourself. Impress your guests with a cake that is not only easy to make but also looks like it was made by a patisserie chef.
Crostata alla Marmellata - Jam Tart
The Cherry season has officially started in Switzerland and I have been very excited as cherries are one of my favourite fruits. To make the cherry season even more exciting we decided to go pick the cherries ourselves at Jucker Farm. Doing your own cherry picking is really a fun experience for young and old and you feel like you are working for your fresh fruits while spending some time in nature.

Blueberry Pie
We love eating blueberry pies in cafés and restaurants but we had actually never made one at home and were craving one this weekend so we tried. Honestly this was one of the easiest pies we ever made (and also one of the tastiest) and now is the right moment to make one as blueberries are in season and are much cheaper :)
