Matcha Brownies with White Chocolate
Normal brownies are great but have you ever had Matcha Brownies with White Chocolate Chips? These brownies will blow your mind and if you’re not a fan of white chocolate you can also replace it with dark/milk chocolate. I made this recipe around 3 times before getting what I think is the right amount/taste of Matcha so I would not add more than the recommended dose.
Make sure you don’t overcook your brownies, they may not look ready after 18/20 minutes but they will keep cooking once you leave them out to rest and will be perfect.
Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Baking Time: 20 Minutes
Ingredients for around 8 brownies:
Matcha Powder - 1 Tbs
Eggs - 1 medium
All-purpose Flour - 70 g (0.5 cup)
Baking Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Butter (unsalted) - 57 g (1/4 cup)
Brown Sugar - 25 g (2 Tbs)
Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
Vanilla Extract - 1/4 teaspoon
White Chocolate Chips - 40 g (1/4 cup)
Preparation:
We start by preparing the dry ingredients - in a bowl add the matcha powder, flour, baking powder and salt - mix with your hands.
In another bowl mix together the wet ingredients with a blender or hand mixer - eggs, melted butter, and vanilla, also add the brown sugar. Mix until the mixture is homogenous.
Pre-heat the oven to 180°C ( 350°F).
Mix the wet ingredients together with the dry ingredients with a spatula - don’t overmix. Add your white chocolate chips (or white chocolate cut into small pieces) into the mixture and mix again with the spatula.
Take a baking pan and cover it with parchment paper. Grease the parchment paper with butter and spread your mixture onto the parchment paper.
Bake for 18 minutes at 180°C ( 350°F) - use a toothpick to see if the brownies are done (the toothpick should come out clean if it doesn’t cook the brownies for an additional 2 minutes).
Take the baking sheet out of the oven and let your brownies rest for around 15/20 minutes and cut them into 8 pieces.
Your brownies are ready :)
