December is quickly approaching and Christmas is only 30 days from today!

While many people think that the summer months bring tastier products (peaches, berries, tomatoes, melons, etc.) we want to inspire you with our favorite local products from the wintertime.

As you know we believe in eating local and seasonal as much as possible. Eating seasonal is not only healthier and friendlier for our planet but it is also a great way to discover new products you might have never eaten or cooked with before.

1) Beetroot

Beetroots are a wonderful source of fiber, manganese, folate (vitamin B9), potassium, iron, and vitamin C. Beetroots and beetroot juice have been associated with a number of health benefits such as improved blood flow, lower blood pressure, and increased exercise performance.

2) Carrots

Carrots are a great source of beta carotene (which is an antioxidant), fiber, vitamin K1, and potassium. They also have a number of health benefits such as helping prevent cancer and promoting eye health. They're weight-loss-friendly food and have been linked to lower cholesterol levels and healthy hair growth.

3) Brussels Sprouts

Brussels Sprouts are extremely high in nutrients such as Vitamin K, Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Magnese and Folate. They are rich in antioxidants and high in fibers and many studies have found that they may also help keeping blood sugar levels healthy. Yes, many people really dislike brussels sprouts but we will be sharing some great recipes where they are easy to add to your diet and actually quite tasty!

4) Pears

Pears are highly nutritious, delicious and have almost no calories! Studies found that pears could support weight loss and reduce a person's risk of cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. They also promote gut health, have anti-inflammatory properties and may boost heart health. Aside from all these health benefits, pears are also so easy to incorporate into your diet - you can eat them raw as a snack, bake them in a cake or add them to your salad.

5) Cabbage

Yes, cabbage will probably be the hardest of these products to sell to you but it is also the healthiest one in the list. It doesn’t taste great to everyone but cabbage is absolutely full of nutrients. Not only can it help with inflammations and improves digestion, it also may lower blood pressure, improve cholesterol levels and is packed with Vitamin C and Vitamin K - wow! Even if it has never been on your shopping list maybe it’s time to finally add it and try out some nice recipes with it.
