Homemade Bounty Bars
When I was a child I used to love Bounty Bars but as I grew up they became a bit too sweet for my taste and I stopped eating them. I’m still a big fan of coconut so this week I decided to make my own, sugar free Bounty Bars using only three ingredients: Isey Skyr Coconut, Coconut Flakes and Chocolate. The coconut flavoured Isey Skyr makes all the difference as it provides that extra delicious coconut taste and the texture is absolutely perfect to make these bars.
The homemade Bounty Bars are super easy to make, there is no baking involved, all you have to do is cool them in the fridge for 3 hours after each step (2 steps) but the great thing is that once they are done you can keep them in the fridge for around 5 days. You can also go the “quick way” and put them in the freezer instead of the fridge, but having tested both methods I advise on the fridge and a little patience :)
Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Baking Time: No Bake! 6 hours wait time in the fridge
Ingredients for around 4 Bounty Bars:
Coconut Flakes - 80 g
Isey Skyr Coconut Lactose free - 130 g
Chocolate 70% Cacao - 200 g
Preparation:
We start preparing our homemade Bounty Bars by blending together the Coconut Flakes and the Isey Skyr (you can add around 20 g of sugar if you want them to be sweeter).
Once your Coconut Flakes and Isey Skyr are blended into a thick paste use your hands to make 4 rectangular bars. Place them on parchment paper and leave them in the fridge for at least 3 hours.
After the three hours have passed you can remove the bars from the fridge. In a pan melt the chocolate using the bain-marie method. Once the chocolate is melted you will have to cover the bars with it. You can help yourself by poking the bars with a toothpick. Keep pouring the hot chocolate over the bars with a spoon or spatula (make sure they are fully covered).
Place the bars back on parchment paper and back in the fridge for at least 3 hours.
At this point your bars will be ready to be enjoyed! You can keep the bars in the fridge for around 5 days
