Glazed Sesame Salmon
Glazed Sesame Salmon is one of my go to recipes when I want something healthy and super easy to make - it’s also a perfect dish for Sunday evenings after a long weekend of eating and drinking or an after work delicacy. The first time I made Glazed Sesame Salmon I was surprised at how easy it was and how few ingredients I needed to make a truly restaurant worthy dish.
I usually eat the Glazed Sesame Salmon either with stir-fried vegetables (zucchinis are my favourites) but I also really like it with asparagus, peas or brussels sprouts - depending on the season. Another option is making it with either white rice or couscous.
Prep Time: 10 Minutes
Cook Time: 15 Minutes
Ingredients for 2 servings:
Salmon Fillets - 2 (no skin)
Soy Sauce - 2 Tbs
Sesame Oil - 1 Tbs
Rice Wine - 1 Tbs
Sriracha - 2 Tbs
Garlic - 1 clove
Ginger - 2 Tbs (grated)
For Garnish:
Lime
Preparation:
Start the recipe by pre-heating the oven to 200°C (fan).
In a baking form or a high plate make the marinade: Sriracha, sesame oil, rice wine, the crushed garlic and the grated ginger. Take out your salmon, make sure it’s nicely cleaned and has no skin. Lay it in the sauce and let it marinade for around 30 minutes.
Now take a baking tray with some parchment paper and put your salmon fillets on top (give them some distance and don’t put them close to each other). Add some marinade sauce over the fillets and sprinkle the sesame seeds.
Bake for 15 minutes at 200°C (you can leave them in 5 more minutes if you want your salmon to be super well done).
Remove from the oven and voilà - your salmon is ready to be served. If you like a bit of a grill finish you can add your salmon to the vegetables you are grilling/ stir frying for a minute.
